I grade the class as a whole, the material and the teacher, a 10/10. I enjoyed everything, particularly Lourdes’ patience with helping on pronunciation. Testimonials From Other Adult Students:
‘This teacher’s personality and demeanor are perfect for good teaching (and I’m a retired teacher). The class materials are excellent, the homework is at a good level and is challenging but doable. “
"Great teaching method"
“Lourdes understands my personal goals and does a good job tailoring her teaching toward that aim. Enjoy her friendly and outgoing personality. I look forward to our next time together”.
“It’s my pleasure to strongly recommend Lourdes as a Spanish tutor. She has been my Spanish tutor and coach for a year and a half.”
“Lourdes is a terrific teacher! I really appreciated her positive, upbeat attitude and encouragement, and especially her patience with me. I especially liked hearing her speak Spanish, so that I could hear what the language sounds like when a native speaker is talking.”
“Lourdes is the person who helped me succeed. She structured the class to teach all the necessary parts of the language, so that the work was always within my abilities, and she created challenging homework that really got me to learn.”
“I loved the progression from simple Spanish basics through all the grammar, and finally getting some more extensive reading about Spanish cultures in the last textbook. So, maybe I should say that the best part was learning so much about Spanish-speaking countries by reading about it in Spanish. (But I had to work through the Basics and the grammar in order to be able to do it, and it was worth it!)”I strongly recommend Lourdes as a Spanish tutor for anyone who truly wants to learn Spanish. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me”.
“The best part was learning correct pronunciation, I liked the material and content, in-class practice, homework, the activities and puzzles, the teacher and everything. Easy to understand and helpful personal attention.”

“I liked using homework to reinforce the class material and being able to ask questions to the teacher. Lourdes was always very helpful, and I absolutely recommend this class to others.”
“I think creating sentences was extremely helpful for me, I would look up and learn the vocabulary, and then having you go over them and correct them verbally and have me then make the corrections worked well.”
“I love that you are a native speaker and that you know your grammar backwards and forwards and are good at breaking down the pieces so I can understand.
I love that you created your own materials, and I was grateful to have both the materials you created and the book – your materials were better!
You discern what I need and have the teaching materials at your fingertips.
I would absolutely recommend these Spanish classes to others!”
I enjoyed conversing with Lourdes and the auxiliary emphasis on writing and reading,

This course was such an excellent way to jump in and learn useful Spanish words and sentences! The teacher is great - so helpful with pronunciation, assigning homework and she is friendly and efficient. I am more confident in my Spanish understanding and especially in conversation with others. I highly recommend this Spanish course!
The material is rated 5/5 because it narrows the focus to the content that is relevant to traveling. The content is interesting and very helpful when I went to Colombia.
Also, I rate this course as a 5/5 (excellent) because I have learned more in such a short period of time than doing it on my own with a popular phone app. The conversation with a native speaker and especially this teacher made a huge difference for me.
The teacher is a 5/5(Excellent), because she is engaging, friendly and corrects mispronounced words and phrases in an easy way for English speakers to remember.

Testimonials from Parents:
"Kind and helpful tutor! Lourdes worked with my daughter twice a week over the summer. My daughter happily went to her lessons at 8am to prepare to take a test to pass out of 8th grade Spanish, which she did. She is very happily taking 9th grade Spanish now.”
“I’m writing this letter on behalf of Lourdes, who is a member of NTA. It is with great pleasure that I am writing this recommendation for her work as a tutor. Lourdes tutored Spanish to my son Ravi from 2017 to 2020 while he was in grades 5th to 7th. She met with him once a week and she did a wonderful job tutoring and assisting him during the sessions. She gave him homework to complete during the week, as well as quizzes to get him ready for a quiz he had in school. He benefitted from Lourdes tutoring him as he got time to learn the concepts and practice talking and writing in Spanish. She made him learn what he was currently learning in school as well as the material his teacher was going to have the students learn next. Before starting tutoring his Spanish grasp was weak, and he did not remember many of the words and phrases. Since he has been tutored by Lourdes, he has received an A grade in school. We appreciate her efforts with Ravi! I recommend Lourdes as a Tutor. Please contact me if there is any additional information you need for recommending Lourdes.”
“We have known Lourdes since she began teaching Spanish to our son Matthew in 2011. We found her on the recommendation of other parents who spoke highly of her teaching style and overall attitude toward learning. Lourdes is an experienced, patient, and engaging educator. She is easy to work with yet expects results from her students. Our son, now in 8th grade, has benefitted greatly from his time with Lourdes. His grades in Spanish have been excellent and his overall understanding of both the spoken and written language are a result of her work with him over the years. We greatly appreciate her talents and believe she would be an asset to our school system, and be happy to answer any questions on her behalf.”
“Lourdes has been teaching in our after school program since 2011. During her time here, she has done a marvelous job with our foreign language program. She has taught all the grade levels that we offer (Kindergarten through 7th grade) in our after school program. One of the best parts about her teaching here is that she brings a lot of her own curriculum and strategies for successful learning. Lourdes has a wonderful rapport with her students. She is a major asset to our staff.”
